This is the Tumblr arm of FlipFob, where we will blast stuff that's more than 'tweet' and less than 'blog'... we think. Lifestream type stuff - anything goes.

Or maybe HAL is a better comparison. Either way, my young conspiracy theorist self would have seen it as Big Brother come to life. The camera that watches you in your own home. Kinect 2 could possibly read lips? Well snap, all my New World Order theorist pals would have gone bananas. Of course, no one ever thought that it would come in what is essentially our kids’ version of our old Atari 2600.
Then again if anyone really wanted to keep tabs on us, putting a camera in everyone’s living room seems like the least efficient way to do that. Today’s phones can do a better job of that than anything that Orwell could have thought up.
From CBS 2 Chicago, via Uptown Update:
Emily Steele, 13, is a 5-foot-3 Asian teenager with brown eyes and black hair and weighs 98 pounds. See left a home at 5001 S. Michigan Av. on Thursday and did not state where she was going, police said.
Emily may be near a McDonald’s in the area of Sheridan and Wilson, police said.
Anyone with information about either girl should call Area 1 police at 312 747 8385.
Perhaps I’m just missing the point. People getting all emotional over what smartphone you have. Whether it’s bb or apple or android or windows, does it really matter?
What works for me may not work for you and that’s cool. I don’t really give two sh*ts about what people taking sides say is better. It’s a tool to communicate. What good is being able to communicate if all we’re doing is taking digs at each other’s phones??
People broadcasting their locations, checking in on whatever - let’s not forget how things used to be:
*ring*ring*
[computerized female voice] “You have a collect call from..”
[friend you’ve been waiting for] “yo man I’m at Belmont I’ll be at your house in a half hour!”
[computerized female voice] “..do you wish to accept the charges?”
